🌱 Swiss Cheese Plant (Monstera)

☀️ Light

Bright indirect light — the brighter the better without direct sun. East- or west-facing window ideal. Direct sun scorches leaves; low light reduces fenestrations. Rotate ¼ turn every few weeks for even growth. Grow lights work well if natural light is limited.

💧 Water

• Water when top 2–3 cm of soil is dry
• Soak thoroughly, drain fully
• Every 7–14 days in summer; every 2–3 weeks in winter
• Never let sit in water — root rot risk is high
• Yellow leaves = overwatering

🪴 Soil

• Rich, well-draining mix: peat + bark + perlite
• Slightly acidic pH (5.5–7.0)
• Always use a pot with drainage holes

🌡️ Temperature

• Ideal: 18–27 °C
• Minimum: 10 °C — growth stops below this
• Do not expose to frost
• Avoid cold drafts, A/C vents, and cold windowsills in winter

💦 Humidity

• 50–60% ideal
• Use a humidifier or pebble tray in dry air
• Brown leaf tips = air too dry
• Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust

🌱 Feeding

• Every 4–6 weeks spring/summer
• Balanced liquid fertilizer (NPK), diluted to half strength
• Stop feeding in autumn/winter
• Flush soil if over-fertilised
